#ExploringLayers: Jan 21, 2018

by Shelley Graham Turner (2018) www.sgturnerart.comSharing photos from my work session on January 21

Another day, another painting. This one started out pretty rough. I had used just a few colors – black, white and deep blue. As I played I add circles,  of course! Then I made a few marks. To the background I decided to add a bit of Golden’s green gold, one of my favorite colors. Afterwards I highlighted it with oil pastels in grass green, deeper green, and finally pale green.

Here’s what I ended up with after choosing my favorite section.  You can see the changes it went through by looking at the slideshow. I think it’s important to take photos at each step (if I remember, sometimes I am so involved I don’t stop). I actually like a few of the earlier shots better then my end piece and plan to get some prints made for my walls.  ~S
